Nadal Captures Third Straight French Open Title

In what is now becoming a yearly occurrence, Rafael Nadal won his third straight French Open title, defeating #1 player in the world Roger Federer 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Nadal dominated most of the match, forcing Federer into 59 unforced errors, and continued his unbeaten streak at Roland Garros. Nadal is now 21-0 at the French Open, and 33-0 in best-of-five matches on clay. Additionally, Nadal bettered his record against Federer to 8-4, going 6-1 on clay, 2-2 on hard courts and 0-1 on grass.

Despite the victory, Federer will remain in front of Nadal in the world rankings. Nadal has been ranked #2 for the past 93 weeks, by far the most of any player never to be ranked #1.
