Dan Patrick announced today that he will be leaving ESPN after 18 years working for the all-sports network. Patrick did not give a clear reason why he was leaving the network, but it doesn’t appear to be negative.
“If there was animosity, I wouldn’t be doing any radio shows after today,” Patrick said on his show. “I hope to be doing radio somewhere, somehow, down the road.”
Patrick made a name for himself on ESPN’s popular sports recap show SportsCenter, teaming with Craig Kilborn and then Keith Olberman, forming an extremely formidable duo each time. Kilborn left ESPN in 1996 and Olberman in 1997.
