Tough Day for Knicks

It was an interesting day for the New York Knicks on Sunday. “Point” guard Nate Robinson won the Most Valuable Player Award of the NBA Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 18.8 points and 6.0 assists while leading the Knicks to a perfect 5-0 record. The Knicks became the 6th team in Summer League History to finish undefeated, a feat that was matched by the Dallas Mavericks later in the day. However, things changed for the Knicks quickly, as the league announced that New York will owe $45,142,002 in luxury tax for having salaries over the league cap of $65.42 million; teams are penalized dollar-for-dollar for the amount they finish over the salary cap.
