It was announced today that Bud Selig will be in attendance tonight for the Giants-Brewers game in Milwaukee, with Barry Bonds now just two home runs shy of tying Hank Aaron’s record. It is unknown if Selig will be attending any other games than tonight’s, but at least the Commissioner is showing that this is an important record that should be witnessed by the highest positioned member in baseball.
My guess is that Selig does not fly to San Francisco if Bonds leaves the Commissioner’s home town tied with Aaron. Bonds hit two home runs yesterday in Chicago at Wrigley Field to pull within two of Aaron’s 755. Tonight’s starter for the Brewers is Jeff Suppan, who has never given up a home run to Bonds.
