Gagne Leads Way in Game One

Eric Gagne pitched a perfect ninth inning to hold onto a 13-1 victory last night, leading the way for the New England Red Socks to take a one game to zero lead in the World Series.

Josh Beckett also pitched last night, lasting seven innings and striking out nine for the win. Though the random hits that Colorado did get last night were all hit hard, none of them were enough to overcome the offensive explosion shown by the home team.

Game two is tonight with Curt Schilling facing rookie Ubaldo Jimenez.

You have to wonder why the Rockies pitched Jeff Francis last night instead of someone like Aaron Cook. There was no way that Beckett was going to lose at home, so why not save your best pitcher for when he plays someone like 40-year old Curt Schilling? I just don’t get it, but maybe that’s why I write for fun instead of manage for money.
