Villanova Tops Stony Brooks to Win 40th Consecutive Home Opener

Shane Clark scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Villanova Wildcats to an 86-64 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves on Friday night. Freshman guard Malcolm Grant added 16 points, including 4-5 from three point land, to help Villanova to their 40th consecutive home opening win.

Reining Big East Freshman of the Year Scottie Reynolds added 13 points and six assists. The Wildcats were without freshman Corey Fisher, who is out with a bum knee. Villanova outrebounded the Seawolves 35-19 and outscored them in the paint 40-12.

The Wildcats will play again next Sunday at 5:00pm against the Bucknell Bison at the Pavilion. Villanova head coach Jay Wright is a 1983 graduate of Bucknell.
