Shane Clark scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Villanova Wildcats to a 70-64 victory over the Bucknell Bison yesterday. Though down by eight points at halftime, Villanova was able to control the second frame and pull out a victory at the Pavilion.
The Bison used nine three-pointers to stake a 35-27 lead at the half, but Villanova came out playing stingy defense and effective offense to outscore their opponents 43-29 after the break.
The starting backcourt of Reggie Redding and Scottie Reynolds scored a combined 27 points for Villanova, who also got a huge contribution from center Casiem Drummond. Starting for the first time this season, Drummond finished with 8 points and 12 rebounds (half of which were grabbed on the offensive end) in just 26 minutes of work.
Freshman guard Corey Fisher saw his first action of the year for the Wildcats, but only played a total of four minutes. Malcolm Grant led the freshman in minutes played with 19.
Villanova will play Central Florida at 7pm on Thanksgiving night for their first game in the Old Spice Classic.
