Memphis Grizzlies’ forward/center Pau Gasol has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN’s J.A. Adande, for former #1 overall pick Kwame Brown, first round draft pick Javaris Crittenton and first round draft choices in 2008 and 2010.
The Grizzlies will now have a front line of a former #1 overall pick in Brown and a former #2 overall pick in Darko Milicic. Unfortunately, the two are still battling for the right to be calling the “Biggest Bust” in the past decade.
The trade will put the Lakers into the top tier of the Western Conference, with a starting front court of Andrew Bynum, when he returns from injury, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom to go along with superstar Kobe Bryant. Gasol has been the center of numerous trade talks over the past three seasons, mostly because he obviously hates Memphis and wanted out. Now he is in the middle of a playoff chase, something he hasn’t experienced for a number of years.
Update: The Memphis Grizzlies will send Pau Gasol and a future second-round pick to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, the unofficially retired Aaron McKie , the draft rights to Pau Gasol’s brother Marc and future first-round picks in 2008 and 2010, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein.
Is this the first time brothers have ever been traded for each other?
